Top 5 Female-led NFT Projects Launching This February
The cryptocurrency market has always been a male-dominated industry. Bloomberg noted that in 2021, only 15% of the market consisted of women. That is not synonymous with the idea that they’re not present in the market at all. Plenty of women-led projects are thriving in the top 50 and more are sure to come. Many hope that with the recent boom in the crypto market, more women will join and learn with the community.
In dedication to the changing of the tides this year, here are 5 women-led projects set to launch in February 2022:
First on the list is Diverse, a NFT project centered around diversity. The collection consists of 5,000 lifelike NFTs highlighting various characteristics present among different ethnicities. By taking global perspectives in mind, they are able to promote diversity, equality and inclusion.
The project slowly gets more ambitious as more progress is made on their road map. For instance, at 80%, DIVERSE holders are able to give birth when they own two NFTs no matter their gender. If this caught your eye, note that they start minting on February 27.
2. Wonderpals
Wonderpals is a collection consisting of 10,000 NFTs with generative traits, all bursting with cuteness. The artist behind Wonderpals, Mina, is also its founder. For her, the inspiration of the Wonderpals designs is the idea of a character that anyone can identify with. Henceforth, each Wonderpal can be anything you want it to be.
At the time of writing, their Twitter account boasts 115.7k followers! With all that success before their launch, expect to hear much of them in the coming months. Their planned launch date is on February 26, 2022.
3. Women Tribe
Women Tribe is inspired by women around the world. To be specific, its artist and founder, Izzy, alongside her team, aims to bridge the gap between gender inequality through the project. And with 10,000 NFTs generated from almost hand-drawn traits, there is no limit to the diversity they intend to promote. It goes public on February 19, 2022.
In order to give back, their roadmap includes several projects to provide opportunities to the community; a percentage of their primary sales will be allotted to charity and establishing the Women Tribe Scholarship Program.
Walking Between Worlds is a NFT project established to bring awareness and promote works of indigenous artists in Australia, better known as aboriginals. The first collection, named the Genesis Collection, released on February 22, 2022. It is centered on the traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island dance vogues.
The Genesis Collection consists of 2,222 unique pieces meant to kickstart later collections alongside an expansion of their repertoire of aboriginal artists. In addition, their team hopes that subsequent collections will amplify the importance of indigenous cultures worldwide.
The Remarkable Women collection was created by Rachel Winter and is inspired by the diversity of women; She aims to empower women through representation and inclusion. For this reason, the collection is expressed as a love letter to and from the neoliberal feminist movement. The project started launching on February 10.
In order for her vision to take root in reality, 5% of sales will go to the Fund for Women’s Equality at launch while 10% of all secondary sales will be put into the Remarkable Women’s Impact Fund with proceeds voted upon by community members.
